The rise of culinary tourism also encourages people to get creative to create new dishes. Not just rely on the diversity of ingredients or spices, raw materials only, how to process food are also growing.

Well, the longer trend is the versatile food burned. True, this method has existed since ancient times, but lately the food processing in this way the more widespread, even for foods that previously burned unusual.

Just look at how many shops or restaurants that serve grilled fish, grilled chicken, steak or grilled meats, grilled burgers, up until the rice burn.

Origin is not excessive
According Inayah Budiastuti, Hang Lekiu Nutrition Doctors Medical Center, this phenomenon because people get tired of fried foods. Moreover, "Presentation by burning more healthy than frying or deep fry long," added Inayah.

But, actually, it does not mean eating grilled foods free from the threat of disease. In fact, one might risk pain when eating a dish that was burned in excess.

According to Bardosono Saptawati, Nutritionist Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Indonesia, the combustion process food with charcoal or other often accompanied the formation of charcoal or burnt. Burnt on food is dangerous because it contains many atoms of carbon, which in large amounts can lead to cancer (carcinogenic).

Unfortunately, according to Ali Khomsan, Nutritionist from the Department of Community Nutrition of the existence of carcinogens in grilled foods have not been done in Indonesia. But, "study abroad much of the dangers of carcinogens present in food through the process of combustion, roasting, or smoking," said Ali.

Understand it, not like in Indonesia, the rich spices for cooking, people overseas who knew no more spice to variations in processing. As a result, they do a lot of food processing by roasting or smoking to get a different flavor.

But, according to Ali, good food whether or not real fuel for the body is a choice. "No need to fear as long as you eat grilled food is incidental and does not become part of lifestyle," he said.

Moreover, there is no direct evidence that the consumption of grilled foods can trigger cancer. "Cancer is a long process, not to be instant and more complex," added Ali.

Grilled food of course can still be enjoyed, but you should be careful when burning process is too much to cause the food you eat will burn.
